Is stackoverflow.com still active?

-well I tried them pretty much all, I don't like forums.digitalpoint.com that much, i don't get many answers there, i get excellent answers on ozzu.com but it's not so active, google forum does not address programming questions unless it's related to google, yahooanswers.com is so active but when i ask a very hard question i get no answer most of the times, and what i don't like about it is that you can't discuss the answer because the person who answer leave and you can't ask him like we do in forums unless you want to pm him (i like this but sometimes you really need to get in touch with the person who give the answer especially if you have only 1 answer)

with that said, I want to ask about stackoverflow, i like the site and the kind of questions i find there and the kind of answers, they answer the hardest questions with quality....like just jr, i don't know if u know him, but when i came to yahoo i was a beginner in php and he was the only one to answer my questions and every time i ask a harder question, he give a better answer, but i can't find many of him here lol, i asked 2 questions on stackoverflow and on YA as well but i don't find anyone who answers, i think stackoverflow is dead, isn't? because all the good discussions happened between 09 and 2010 so what you think? Is there any active alternative which has the quality of programmers that stackoverflow has?

no disrespect to anyone but when I have a simple question, i can google it, or if i post it here i have like 6 or 7 answers, but these days i have a very technical questions that have to do with paypal api and flash video player scrubber and i have no answer and i posted the q 3 times...and paypal forum is inactive so i can't ask there, google is empty on that subject, only an experienced flash and paypal developer can answer my questionI think Stackoverflow is the best resource available for programmers. If you can't find an answer there or in the documentation for the API your working with, your pretty much on your own. Stackoverflow isn't hardly dead. At least not in Java.Appears to be quite active. A quick look shows lots of questions being asked and answered, and lots of views on many of the questions.

As your questions get harder and harder, it gets harder to find people who can answer them. And the few people who can answer them tend to be fussy about what questions they do answer. A professional is more likely to invest time in answering a question they perceive as coming from another professional than a question coming from some kid playing in a sandbox.

Look at the question you posted here. It's 3 paragraphs long, not a single word is capitalized, and there isn't a single period. Your first sentence is a 7 line long paragraph. When I read that, I think kid playing in a sandbox.

You can get away with that on YA!. You can't on stackoverflow. Look at the questions that are getting answered there. They tend to be short, to the point, and well written. Invest some time in asking your question, and someone might invest the time to answer it.
