What are some cool things you can add to web pages to make them look more Professional?

-i can add text, edit text, add bg color, add bg images, add games videos and pictures, make marquee's, center and align text to different sides, change titles and add block-quotes but my webpages always end up looking really cheap, tacky and unproffesional. how can i make them look better?
